Marie Doyle

Director of Supporter Engagement

Mary's Meals

Marie started her career in the not-for-profit sector in 2009 at a full-service fundraising agency. In this role, she worked with clients such as MSF UK, MND Association, Stroke Association, and Blue Cross on strategic planning, creative development and data analysis.

Marie then spent six years at the Royal British Legion as Head of Supporter Engagement and Development, before joining Mary’s Meals as Director of Supporter Engagement.

She has spent her career developing those around her and says in her own words: “The Elischer Foundation is an organisation I have admired for a long time and am so honoured to have been selected as a Mentor. I am so passionate about the charity sector, and so passionate about supporting others and developing our people and believe that mentoring can play a key role in this. It’s great to be able to bring these passions together and be able to support some of the industry's upcoming leaders.”

Most people think leadership is about being in charge. Most people think leadership is about having all the answers and being the most intelligent person or the most qualified person in the room. The irony is that it is the complete opposite. Leadership is about empowering others to achieve things they did not think possible. Leadership is about pointing in the direction, articulating a vision of the world that does not yet exist. Then asking help from others to insure that vision happens.
