Since starting Alzheimer’s Research UK in 2016, Lucy has built a successful department enabling supporters to fundraise through their own talents and passions to accelerate progress towards a cure.
She has grown fundraising income from £1.5m to £12m in 8 years through recruiting and developing great people, leading and managed diverse teams, launching innovative products and campaigns, and brilliant brand partnerships. Lucy helped develop the charities first virtual running event back in 2016, her team successfully pitched and partnered with Omaze for a second time in 2023 raising over £4.1m in total from two houses, she set-up the Online Fundraising team bringing in streaming and crypto fundraising to diversify ARUK portfolio, she has also worked on two brand refreshes including ‘Make Breakthroughs Possible’ and ‘For A Cure’ as well as supporting the charity to become a World Class organisation to work for, through the Best Companies employee engagement Survey.
Lucy is passionate about developing her knowledge, skills and experience and helping other to succeed. With previous commercial marketing and PR roles, Lucy started her fundraising career at Cancer Research UK in 2004. She then worked as an interim manager and freelance consultant in the sector specialising in troubleshooting fundraising processes, developing future fundraising strategies and establishing high performing teams.
