
Steph Pisharody

Like many, Steph became a fundraiser accidentally. Taking a year out from her original career as teacher, to test it was the path for her, she secured a role at the NSPCC in the major gifts team and never looked back.
Over the last 25 years, Steph has felt privileged to have had incredible opportunities working across cultural, heritage and health charities, with committed people creating inspiring impact. In 2022 she completed an MA in Philanthropic Studies at the University of Kent, which enriched further her knowledge and passion for philanthropy. She is currently Director of Development at RIBA.

In my career so far, I have been fortunate to have learned from some amazing fundraisers. I applied for the Elischer programme as I believe that mentorship and peer support play a vital role in strengthening this fascinating, challenging and fast-evolving profession. My hope is that working with a mentor, and a cohort of like-minded colleagues, will expand my thinking, deepen my understanding of myself and others, and enable me to give the very best that I can to my role and to the sector.
