Lucy Sandford

Lucy is the Head of Supporter Growth at UNICEF UK, leading a team responsible for multi-channel supporter acquisition and overseeing budgets exceeding £10 million. With over 15 years of experience in the charity sector, she has a proven track record of driving income growth, fostering innovation, and developing high-performing teams.

Her fundraising journey began as a telephone fundraiser at Listen Fundraising Ltd, followed by an internship at Action Against Hunger. She then secured her first permanent role at the British Red Cross, where she honed her skills in Direct Mail. Since joining UNICEF UK in 2013, Lucy has held multiple roles, expanding her expertise across digital, DRTV and Face-to-Face, as well as fundraising innovation, eCommerce, and strategic planning.

Passionate about developing her leadership skills, Lucy completed the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s Women in Leadership course and was seconded to UNICEF Colombia to help transform their fundraising programme.

Recently, Lucy became a mum of two, with a three-year-old and a new baby born in 2024. This new chapter has deepened her motivation to lead with purpose, drive positive change, and make her daughters proud.
