Sophia Last

UK

After graduating from a Fine Art degree in 2018, Sophia started a by-chance Legacy & In Memory fundraising role at St Gemma’s Hospice, and instantly fell in love with the job: engaging with supporters, bringing innovation to products, developing marketing campaigns and networking across the sector. After joining Marie Curie in 2022, as Legacy & In Memory Lead for London, and after five years working for end-of-life charities, Sophia took a new role at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2023 as Legacies Manager - to encompass her passion for arts and culture with her existing fundraising experience.

Why apply?

“I applied for The Elischer Foundation mentorship to better understand my potential and personal leadership style and values, and to know the routes I can take to reach senior leadership roles. I knew this opportunity would be invaluable when joining a new role and ambitious team; with the aim to become a sector leader for legacy and in memory fundraising for the arts.”
